Texas DPS LTC Course

Classroom and Range Proficiency

Everything you need to qualify for the Texas DPS License to Carry a Handgun.

This course includes the 4 required blocks of instruction in the classroom, and the handgun proficiency test on the range.

Class begins at 10:00am, and will end about 4:00pm.  We will hold breaks each hour – Bring your lunch as we will continue class.

Bring with you for the Course:

• State of Texas-Issued Photo Identification (example, TXDL, or TXID)
• Writing Pen or Pencil
• Note taking materials of your choice, no video, please.
• UNLOADED firearm – Minimum .22 cal or larger – Pistol or Revolver– no live ammo in the classroom.
• 1-empty magazine if using a semi-auto handgun
• 50-rounds that you know will work in your handgun.
• Eye and Ear protection
• Baseball cap
• Closed toe shoes

• Shirts with a button collar, polo-style or similar.  No low-cut shirts or blouses.
• Shorts are allowed with discretion.  No shorts cut above the mid-thigh.  Call with any questions.
