What is unique about high threat medical principles is less about what is done\nmedically and more about when it is done, what injuries on focused on, and what can be\nexcluded.\nA bleeding injury can happen anywhere. We’ve all seen it happen too often; on the news or\nin everyday life. Life-threatening bleeding can happen in people injured in serious\naccidents or disasters. Instead of being a witness, you can become an immediate responder\nbecause you know how to STOP THE BLEED. You’ll gain the ability to recognize life-\nthreatening bleeding and act quickly and effectively to control bleeding once you learn\nthree quick techniques. Become empowered to make a life or death difference when a\nbleeding emergency happens.\nTECC has applications for ALL high risk operations, where there is a real and on-going\nrisk to both the patient and provider. Examples of high risk operations include, but are not\nlimited to:\n\n Wilderness medicine\n Active shooter response\n Vehicle Accidents\n Law enforcement ‘officer down’ response\n Disaster medical support\n Response to explosive mass casualty\n All other mass casualty response\n\nSuccessful students will learn how to apply life-saving trauma skills, phases of casualty\ncare, and how to perform rapid trauma assessments. They will earn an ACS Stop the Bleed\nCertification and an Introduction to TECC certificate.\nTactical Emergency Casualty Care (TECC) is the civilian evolution and application of the\nmilitary Tactical Combat Casualty Care guidelines (TCCC). Military units that have\ntrained all of their members in TCCC have documented the lowest incidence of\npreventable deaths among their casualties in the history of modern warfare. TCCC-based\npre-hospital trauma training is now becoming widespread in the US civilian sector as well.\nTECC is the civilian evolution and application of the military TCCC guidelines. Overall,\nthe principles of TECC are not difficult to teach – the actual medical interventions such as\npressure dressings and tourniquets are now commonplace for everyday trauma.\nAlthough the word ‘tactical’ in common use implies law enforcement associated operations,\nevery first responder utilizes ‘tactics’ on every call every day. The word tactical refers to\nthe operational decisions that are made during response. Every one of these operational\ndecisions has an effect on medical care and the competing priorities of operations and\nmedical care need to be considered in real time. TECC allows you to do just this.\n\nAs situations both local and abroad become more intense, individuals must how to conduct\nvarious weapons drills such as loading, combat reloading, clearing malfunctions with either\nhand, independent of the other hand. In this course you will link the newly learned TECC\nskills with disabled/disadvantage shooting situations to prepare for the worse. We will put\nyou “in the fight” and teach you to work through various life or death situations.\nThere is NO requirement for students to live fire in this class, but the opportunity is\nprovided for those that want to hone their skills under stress response. This dynamic class\ncombines Emergency Casualty Care training with disabled/disadvantage shooting\npositions. The course is open to all experienced practitioners. Tac Pistol 1P or similar\ncourse preferred prior to enrollment.\nWe are proud to be a Committee for Tactical Emergency Casualty Care Educational\nPartner and a Member of the Tactical Medical Solutions Associate Trainers Program.\n\nREQUIRED EQUIPMENT:\n Pistol, duty belt with three magazines, 100 rds (Optional for non-shooting\nparticipants)\n Duty or Tactical gear, vest, chest rig or go bag, as required for every day carry or\nduty work\n Food and water for one training day, BRING LUNCH!\n\n If you wish to provide your own training gear, it must be quality\nequipment from North American Rescue, TacMed Solutions or similar provider,\nand must be on the TCCC recommended equipment list. If you provide your own training gear use the code owntraininggear for a discount $65.00 on the price in the registration.\n\n1.
